BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Health said on Saturday that no monkeypox case has been recorded in the Caraga region.
“We did not receive any information yet pertaining to this case (mpox),” the Department of Health-13 said.
Hospitals and other health facilities and local government units are proactively implementing protective measures to safeguard the people from the disease.
The DOH urged the people to actively practice health protocols and only seek information about monkeypox, especially concerning how the disease is transmitted, from the concerned government agency.
Residents need to know the symptoms of the disease and the measures for preventing its spread, the DOH said.
Butuan City and Agusan del Norte hospitals and other medical facilities are practicing health protocols such as mandatory wearing of face masks against monkeypox.
Two suspected monkeypox cases were reported in the Province of Dinagat Islands. Samples have been sent to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine in Muntinlupa City for laboratory tests and confirmation.
PDI Gov. Nilo Demerey Jr. has issued Executive Order No. 05-04 has issued comprehensive guidelines for the prevention, detection, isolation, and management monkeypox cases.
