New DHSUD chief orders fair, fast action on all home buyers' complaints
Complaints by home buyers against developers will be acted in the soonest possible time, newly-installed Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Ramon P. Aliling assured the public.
And in order to ensure compliance and as his first official act as housing czar, Aliling said he already issued a circular entitled “Providing for the Expeditious Handling and Disposition of Buyers’ Complaints against Developers of Subdivision and Condominium Projects.”
“Homebuyers and other real estate clients encountering problems deserve better from DHSUD,” said Aliling.
“We must exhaust all possible means within our authority to address these concerns fairly, transparently, expeditiously and, as much as possible, without added stress and cost to home buyers,” he added
Based on the circular he issued, Aliling directed DHSUD-Regional Offices to submit bi-weekly complaints status reports to the Central Office.
He also assured that he will regularly monitor compliance in order to ensure that his office is sensitive to all the concerns being raised by home buyers and other stakeholders.
Aliling said that the DHSUD will even act on the concerns raised by homeowners’ associations.
