Pambansang Ginoo David Licauco has ventured into music as he released his first song called "I Think I Love You" under Universal Music Group.
During a recent interview in Quezon City, David shared his enthusiasm for making music. "I'll be having mall shows. I'll be doing TikTok. Wala sa plano ko ang maging actor, or maging businessman. I am the kind of guy who tries to be in the present moment. I try to stay in the moment and have my system in place. I don't really sing, but everybody can sing."
David shared that he is currently dedicating a significant amount of his time and energy to advancing his career. He mentioned that he is actively pursuing new opportunities and challenges in his field, aiming to enhance his skills and achieve professional growth.
"I'm just focusing on my career. Whatever happens, it happens. Before I tend to control things, so kung ano yung dumating at kung may dumating man, I'll just let things be," said David when asked if he was ready to mingle again at the launch of her debut single recently.
David, 30, mentioned that he had recently experienced a heartbreak and was not looking to enter another relationship. "I just came from a heartbreak. So focus lang talaga ako sa work muna. Whatever happens, it happens," the hunk actor said.
The restaurateur said he appreciates the freedom and independence that comes with being single at this stage in his life. He finds joy in exploring his interests and focusing on personal growth.
However, David also expressed a hopeful longing for the future, envisioning a time when he might settle down and embark on the journey of marriage, sharing his life with a partner who aligns with his dreams and aspirations.
"Sabi ko noon dapat pag 27 years old na ako, dapat kasal na ako. Pero ngayon halos lahat ng kaibigan ko may asawa na at wala na akong kasama. But right now, I just enjoy this. Once you're married, this will lessen. Alam naman natin yun na sa Philippine showbiz, nawawala yung mga gagawin. Siyempre busy na sila sa anak," David shared.
In the coming days, David said he would be busy promoting his first single. But he revealed that his team is now working on a follow-up single. "We're working on it. I'm looking forward to recording more songs. But I'm also trying to write songs," he said.
Asked about his three favorite songs these days, David mentioned "Multo" by Cup of Joe; "Kung Wala Ka" and "Blue Sky," both recorded by Hale. "Puro OPM ang gusto kong pakinggan ngayon."
Written by Luke April Isnani and Ivo Impreso, “I Think I Love You” is a catchy and upbeat song about realizing that you’re developing strong emotions for someone, something that a lot of people can relate to.
Last May 15, a few minutes before the release of his single, David went live on his TikTok account for a single salubong while he was at Lujo Bar in Poblacion. At the stroke of midnight, he celebrated with his fans when the DJ at Lujo suddenly played "I Think I Love You."
“I Think I Love You” is currently getting a lot of love online. On the day of its release, it was number five on the Top Songs list of iTunes Philippines, making it the only OPM song to make it to the top 5.
On TikTok, several supporters are using the audio for fan-made edits of David and his onscreen partner, Barbie Forteza. Many people have also been dancing to it and creating their choreography, including TikToker Miko Yanson, who is known for devising dance choreographies for numerous trending online songs.
