Majority of Filipinos want Vice President Sara Duterte to focus on addressing the country’s pressing needs and to directly confront the corruption and impeachment allegations filed against her, based on a survey conducted by Social Weather Stations (SWS) from May 2 to 6.

The national survey commissioned by Stratbase Group revealed that 93 percent of Filipinos believe Vice President Duterte should prioritize collaborating with other leaders to address the nation's needs, with 74 percent saying she “definitely should” and 19 percent saying she “probably should.”
In addition, 88 percent of respondents say she should address the impeachment charges and allegations of corruption, including 68 percent who say she definitely should and 20 percent who say she probably should.
Only 7 percent believe she should not do so or are unsure.
While 61 percent believe she should continue to pursue her platform and policies, a majority also call for restraint in political discourse.
Fifty-nine percent say she should continue performing her duties as Vice President but stop politicizing the position, and 50 percent say she should step back from publicly criticizing the government and its initiatives.
The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 1,800 registered voters nationwide.
Respondents were drawn from Metro Manila (300), Balance Luzon (900), the Visayas (300), and Mindanao (300).
The margin of error is ±2.31 percent at the national level.
