Pageant fans, rejoice! The wait is almost over!
The Miss Grand International Organization announced on May 29 that Miss Philippines Christine Juliane "CJ" Opiaza, who won first runner-up, will be crowned the new Miss Grand International 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand, on June 3 at 2 p.m.
"Time tells all. The crown has found its queen," the MGI announcement read. It added: "Join us for the official coronation of Miss Grand International 2024 — Christine Juliane Opiaza, the first-ever Grand Queen from the #Philippines. Be part of this historic moment."
CJ responded to the MGI announcement by posting photos with the caption: Rising from the golden ashes is a Phoenix who is ready for a comeback to conquer the grandest heights. I am Christine Juliane Opiaza, Miss Grand International 2024 from the Philippines."
On May 28, Rachel announced on social media that she was stepping down as Miss Grand International 2024 due to "broken promises, mistreatment, and a toxic environment."
Shortly thereafter, the MGI shared on social media that Rachel had been removed from her title. Moreover, the MGI shared on its social media platforms the reasons for revoking Rachel's crown.
