With both series going full distance, the junglers of both squads came up huge in the deciders with Cyril “K1NGKONG” Perez starring for Onic PH while Kyle “Kyletzy” Sayson shining the brightest for Team Falcons PH.
Onic PH actually averted a huge collapse as Twisted Minds rallied back from a 0-2 deficit to force a winner-take-all Game 5.
With their title-retention bids on the line, however, K1NGKONG simply took over for the Super Family as he put up a near-perfect performance on the Lancelot pick.
K1NGKONG dominated the jungle battle and secured all of the major objectives to fuel his team's 12-minute rampage in the decider. When the dust settled, the defending champs already took an 11-5 win in Game 5 with the Onic jungler leading the way with a 4-1-4 KDA.
Also equally impressive in the clutch was Kyletzy who completed a neat 6-0-8 line on the Hayabusa pick in Team Falcons PH’s deciding 15-11 win over TNC.
Although dominant in the early goings up until the mid-game – even taking out the outer turrets of the Phoenix Army – in Game 5, FLCN couldn’t simply go for the base with TNC retaliating behind Benedict “BennyQt” Gonzales’ Wanwan pick.
But Team Falcons would not be denied as Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel set up his Luo Yi’s Diversion ultimate at the bottom lane and caught TNC off-guard, resulting in FLCN scoring a five-man wipe to finally end the series.
With its respective wins, Onic PH earned a shot at second-seeded Aurora Gaming while Team Falcons PH earned a match against regular season leader Team Liquid PH.
