Laborer arrested for raping 15-year-old GF

BUTUAN CITY – Police arrested a 25-year-old construction worker on Monday for allegedly sexually molesting his 15-year-old girlfriend in Nawaan, Misamis Oriental province.
Police Regional Office 10-Regional Public Information Office Police Major Joann G. Navarro identified the suspect as John, the 10th most wanted person (MWP) in Northern Mindanao.
John was arrested on a warrant dated May 13, 2025 issued by a local court for statutory rape with no bail recommended, Navarro said.
PRO 10-Regional Operations Division records showed that the victim was raped near a school in 2024.
The victim claimed that prior to the incident, the suspect gave her a soft drink that may have been tampered with or laced with alcohol or another substance.
“She reported feeling weak and dizzy afterward, and was allegedly sexually abused by the accused during that time,” said Navarro, quoting reports from the PRO 10-ROD and Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office (PPO).
The suspect is under the custody of the Naawan MPS for proper disposition.
PRO-10 Director Police Brig. Gen. Jaysen C. de Guzman lauded operating units for the arrest of the suspect.
