K-pop idol and actor Cha Eun-woo, star of the dramas “Gangnam Beauty” and “True Beauty,” will be enlisting in the military.
His agency, Fantagio, made the announcement on May 29, saying that Cha Eun-woo, a member of K-po boy band ASTRO, will start his military service on July 28.
“We would like to express our gratitude to Aroha [fans] who always send their unconditional love to ASTRO, and we would like to inform you about the enlistment of our artist Cha Eun-woo,” the agency said.
It added, “Cha Eun-woo, who recently applied to the Army Band, received the final acceptance notice from the Military Manpower Administration today and will enlist in the training center on July 28 to receive basic military training before fulfilling his national defense obligation in the Army Band.”
“To prevent safety accidents due to crowding on the day of enlistment, the location and time of Cha Eun-woo's enlistment will be kept private, and no separate event will be held. We ask for your generous support and warm encouragement for Cha Eun-woo, who will faithfully fulfill his national defense obligation and return in good health,” Fantagio said.
Early this month, it was reported that Cha Eun-woo applied for the Army band and was interviewed in March.
The band recruited applicants from late March to early April.
