DHSUD: Real estate firm commits to build over 35,000 mass housing units until 2026
A real estate company has committed to build more than 35,600 mass housing units until next year amid the ongoing government services overhaul to expedite the programs and projects under the Marcos administration, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) disclosed on Thursday, May 29.
DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said the commitment made by Raemulan Lands Inc. (RLI) Chief Executive Officer Eileen Uy Doyle will be a big boost in President Marcos’ instruction to expedite the mass housing projects.
"This is a clear indication that the expansion of mass housing to horizontal developments is in the right track to rally more private partners to join the President's program. With more partners expected to come in, we can produce more housing units faster," said Aliling.
RLI is one of the country's top producer of socialized housing and has been recognized by Pag-IBIG Fund as Top Developer nationwide for three consecutive years (2020-2022).
It was also awarded the highest number of socialized housing units taken out nationwide (2022-2024) and in the National Capital Region for 2024.
In a letter sent to the DHSUD, Doyle said it could build 35,656 housing units in the next two years.
"Your announcement last May 27, 2025 to include and prioritize horizontal developments as part of the 4PH (Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH)) Program has bolstered our commitment to continue with our company's mission," wrote Doyle.
“As a matter of fact, we have already laid out our housing road map to be included in the government's 4PH Program for the years 2025 to 2026, totaling 35,656 housing units," she added.
She was reacting to the announcement of Aliling to also focus on horizontal mass housing development aside from vertical or condominium-type housing projects.
Doyle said construction is currently ongoing for some of the housing units in Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal.
"We need to be more inclusive. We hear the clamor of LGUs and other partners for horizontal developments so that they can be more affordable," Aliling earlier said.
