Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano reminded residents to be on alert as four fire incidents were recorded in the city in a week.
Cayetano said 59 families were left homeless in four fires in Barangays Western Bicutan, Maharlika Village, North Signal at Ususan.
In the North Signal fire on May 28, a 15-year-old girl died while another woman suffered burns.
A reminder and warning, beloved Taguigueños! The disaster caused by fire is still widespread. Within a week, four Barangays of Taguig were affected. Unfortunately, the fire that started in one house affected the lives and properties of other neighbors),” the mayor posted on Facebook.
Nagpaabot din po ang pamahalaang lungsod at DSWD [Department of Social Welfare and Development] ng paunang tulong pinansyal at mga pangangailangan (Our city expresses its condolences to the bereaved family of the deceased in the North Signal incident. We also continue to monitor the condition of the two other injured. The city government and DSWD have also provided initial financial assistance and necessities).”
Cayetano told residents to immediately call the city’s Rescue Team and Taguig City Fire Station in case of disasters.
