1-Pacman Party-list Rep. Mikee Romero is claiming to have set a record of sorts among congressmen who have completed three consecutive terms.
"I penned 148 laws out of 1,200 bills in 9 years, the most laws done by any Congressman in a 3-term congress," Romero wrote in a recent Facebook post.
Romero, a former House deputy speaker, also said he was "Graduating in few more weeks".
Philippine congressmen can serve a maximum of three consecutive three-year terms, or a total of nine years. They may seek election again in the House of Representatives after one election cycle.
The 148th law that Romero authored was Republic Act (RA) No.12180 or the Philippine Volcanology and Seismology Modernization Program.
The current 19th Congress will adjourn sine die or conclude on June 13, marking Romero's graduation from the lower chamber.
Among the other notable laws that the veteran solon has penned throughout the years were the free tuition fee law, Universal Health Care law, Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law, establishment of the National Commission for Senior Citizens, the extension of validity of passports to 10 years and amendments to the Anti-Hazing law.
