A motorcycle-riding robber was arrested by Makati City police on Wednesday, May 28, after victimizing a 61-year-old American in Barangay Bel-Air.

Based on the police report, Celso, together with his two cohorts "Tutoy" and "Pipoy," both Manila residents, robbed the American national who was walking along Polaris Street near Anza Street on Tuesday, May 27.
The robbers took the victim's bag containing valuables and P300,000 in cash before fleeing on their motorcycle.
"Initially attempting to trace the culprits on his own through a cellphone tracking application, the victim eventually sought police assistance and reported the incident at 12:50 a.m. on May 28 to Makati Police Sub-station 6," the Makati City Police said.
Responding police officers and intelligence operatives traced the stolen cellphone signal and spotted the suspects allegedly waiting for another victim.
As authorities approached, the suspects attempted to flee, leading to a brief chase that resulted in Celso's arrest.
Police recovered the victim's stolen cellphone and a fragmentation grenade from the suspect.
"Following this latest incident, he now faces multiple charges: Robbery under Article 293 of the Revised Penal Code, Violation of RA 11235 (Use of Motorcycle in the Commission of a Crime), and Violation of RA 9516 (Illegal Possession of Explosives). He is currently under police custody and will be charged accordingly," the police said, adding that a manhunt operation has been launched to locate and arrest the remaining suspects.
