The main index added 41.18 points or 0.64 percent to close at 6,425.80 as Banks led gains accross the board. Volume improved to 601 million shares worth P6.3 billion as gainers outnumbered losers 118 to 80 with 48 unchanged.
“Philippine shares tracked US performance as investor's risk appetite renewed on tariff pause. Wall street on the green following news on postponement of 50 percent tariff on European Union,” said Regina Capital Development Corporation Managing Director Luis Limlingan.
Philstocks Financial Research Manager Japhet Tantiangco said “The local market bounced back as investors hunted for bargains after two straight days of decline. The positive spillovers from Wall Street's overnight performance also helped in Wednesday's session.
