TACLOBAN CITY – The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Borongan City in Eastern Samar has passed a resolution declaring a state of calamity following the surge of African Swine Fever (ASF) cases in the city.
Resolution No. 55, Series of 2025, was issued on May 14 following the recommendation by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).
The resolution provides that those affected will be given the necessary assistance through the Quick Response Fund of the CDRRMO.
ASF has affected 12 barangays and 34 hog raisers.
The City Veterinary Office continues to monitor and assess the situation, including the disbursement of funds.
