Mayor Vico: New Pasig City Hall Project to be completed on time

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto announced that the groundbreaking ceremony of the highly anticipated New Pasig City Hall Campus will take place soon after the city government saw no delays and slippage on its construction.
Sotto made the statement as he shared that the project, considered as the biggest infrastructure project in Pasig's history, is in full swing and is well within its timeline as of May 2025.
"Nakikita naman po natin sa mga proyekto ng gobyerno hindi lang naman sa Pasig, pero dito din sa Pasig aminin natin, 99 percent ng proyekto natin nagkakaroon ng slippage kahit ilang araw. Pero ito nakikita natin na maganda at maayos ang pagkakagawa (We see it in government projects, not only in Pasig. But here in Pasig too, let's admit it, 99 percent of our projects have slippage, even for a few days. But we see that this project is being done well and properly)," Sotto said.
"Hindi lamang ito isang infrastructure project natin, kundi nais po natin itong maging modelo rin sa mga future projects, malaki man o maliit, ng ating lokal na pamahalaan (This is not just one of our infrastructure projects. We want this to be a model of the city government's future projects regardless of size)," he added.
The mayor explained that the best practices implemented by the city government during the construction of the New Pasig City Hall Project -- covering everything from the planning stage, crafting of the Program of Work, public bidding, transparency in reporting progress, to implementation and evaluation -- will be carried over to future city-led infrastructure projects.
"Ito po ay hindi lang city hall. Siguro kung mayroon tayong isa mang pagkakamali, baka ito po 'yung title ng project. Baka nagkamali tayo sa title ng project kasi alam naman po nating hindi lang s'ya building, kundi pati may medical facilities, may mga laboratoryo ng City Health Department (CHD) ay nandoon, may senior citizens center po tayo doon kasama ng OSCA, lahat ng mga pangarap natin sa city hall (This is not just a city hall. Maybe if we have one mistake, it might be the title of the project. Maybe we made a mistake in the title of the project because we know that it is not just a building, but it also has medical facilities, laboratories of the City Health Department (CHD), a senior citizens center there along with OSCA, basically all of our dreams of a city hall)," Sotto explained.
He further highlighted that for this project, the direction of the city government is to maximize the value of the land, where the Pasig City Hall campus will soon stand.
"Kaya muli po, hindi lang sa pagpplano, hindi lang sa implementasyon sa pagpapatayo nito, kundi pati sa economics at sa iba pang aspeto ay ito'y magiging modelo ng pamahalaan sa hinaharap (Again, the project should not just be a model of the best practices in creating programs and infrastructures. It should also be a model in terms of economics and other aspects of governance in the future)," the local chief executive said.
