Aliling vows to fully digitalized DHSUD services before PBBM term ends
Newly-installed government housing czar Jose Ramon P. Aliling has committed to fully-digitalized the services of the Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD) to ensure fast and comfortable transactions with its clients and partners.
Aliling replaced Jose Rizalino Acuzar as DHSUD secretary in a revamp implemented by President Marcos after asking all cabinet secretaries to submit courtesy resignation.
As he vowed to further improve the services in the department, Aliling said he will create a Technical Working Group (TWG) with stakeholders to study how to streamline all the processes in the department.
“After we streamline and standardize all the processes, we will push for the implementation of our digitalization program. The DHSUD will be fully digitalized before the end of President Marcos,” said Aliling.
Aliling also emphasized that his leadership will also focus on the campaign against corruption.
“We will implement zero tolerance on corruption, we will make the DHSUD the most transparent and efficient in the government,” he said.
The official also gave assurance that the mass housing program will continue: “But will be improved, expanded, and include other modalities.”
In doing so, he said the mass housing will include what he described as “horizontal development”, or the foundational infrastructure and utilities required before vertical construction can begin. This includes things like roads, utilities, and site preparation.
“We will prioritize the preparation of the guidelines for horizontal developments. In doing this, we can expect mass housing numbers to improve significantly,” said Aliling.
