QCPD holds simulation exercise, vows increased police visibility
The Quezon City Police District conducted a simulation exercise (SIMEX) on Monday, May 26, to assess the effectiveness of the department’s emergency response protocols.
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Sec. Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla also visited the QCPD headquarters to see its on-the-ground operations.
Remulla and the leadership of the PNP monitored the performance of the QCPD from the Integrated Command, Control, and Communication Center (IC3) at Camp Karingal.
As part of the government’s implementation of the Intensified and Recalibrated Police Visibility program in the National Capital Region, the QCPD will deploy police personnel as early as 4:00 a.m. to cater to early commuters.
The increased police presence is aimed at increasing public trust, and showing communities in the city that they are safe and secure.
Meanwhile, the DILG stressed the importance of a unified approach between the local government units and the PNP noting that effective governance requires cooperation and not politicization.
The QCPD expressed its commitment to the directives from the national government as well as improving its operational capabilities.
“The QCPD remains committed in aligning with national directives and continuously enhancing its operational capabilities to ensure a safer and more secure Quezon City,” it said.
