Police nab suspect in murder of woman found at QC dumpsite
Quezon City police have arrested the suspect in the killing of a woman whose body was discovered at a Barangay Payatas dump site on May 14.
Police identified the suspect as alias “Felimon”, 47, a resident of Barangay Payatas.
He was apprehended during the manhunt operation by Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station (PS 13) on May 23 at Barangay Langkiwa, Biñan City, Laguna.
Police reported that the operation was launched after a confidential informant positively identified Felimon as the victim's killer.
Investigators said Filemon is listed as the second Most Wanted Person of PS13 for a homicide case lodged at Branch 43 of the Regional Trial Court in Tacloban City.
During his arrest, police recovered from the suspect an improvised firearm with one 5.56mm (M-16) bullet tucked into his waistband, along with four additional rounds of the same caliber in his pants pocket.
The suspect faces as a murder charge for the recent killing, along with separate charges for violating Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition) and Batas Pambansa No. 881 (Omnibus Election Code), in connection with Comelec Resolution No. 11067.
