Digital payment transactions via PESONET and Instapay increased by 31.2 percent to ₱1.85 trillion in April, from ₱1.41 trillion in the same month last year.
Digital transactions reach 306.6 million costing ₱1.85 trillion in April, driven by Instapay

This is equivalent to a ₱440-billion increase from April 2024, according to the latest Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) data.
Similarly, April transactions coursed through the two automated clearing houses increased by 44.5 percent, from March’s ₱1.28 trillion.
The combined volume of transactions through Instapay and PESONET increased annually and monthly.
The recorded number of transactions was 306.6 million, up by 176 percent from last year’s 111.1 million transactions. It likewise increased 49.6 percent from over 205 million transactions in the previous month.
The value of PESONET transactions climbed by nearly 18.1 percent annually to ₱1.01 trillion in April, from ₱855 billion a year earlier. But it declined slightly by one percent from the P1.02 trillion posted a month earlier.
The volume of transactions that went through the payment gateway also rose by 8.4 percent to 9 million, from 8.3 million in the same period a year ago. However, it declined by 5.6 percent from the previous month’s 9.5 million transactions.
Likewise, the value of transactions done through Instapay jumped by 50.8 percent to ₱841.1 billion, from ₱557.6 billion in the previous year. It also increased slightly by 1.8 percent from March’s ₱825.7 billion worth of transactions.
As for the number of Instapay transactions, the April figure stood at 297.7 million, higher by 189.6 percent from 102.8 million a year earlier. It likewise posted an over 52.3-percent increase from 195.5 million in the previous month.
PESONet and Instapay are automated clearing houses introduced in December 2015, as part of the BSP’S national retail payment system (NRPS) framework.
PESONet handles high-value transactions and serves as an electronic alternative to paper checks.
Instapay, meanwhile, is a realtime electronic fund transfer service for low-value transactions up to ₱50,000, commonly used for remittances and e-commerce.
