ILOILO CITY — The son of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada was physically assaulted by three young men while vacationing at world-famous Boracay Island in Malay town, Aklan province.
The local police confirmed the incident, but did not release any specific details.
Radyo Todo Aklan initially reported that the incident occurred around 2 a.m. Saturday, May 24.
The senator’s son reportedly left a bar and was walking towards the direction of the mini-mall adjacent to the front beach when three men approached him.
One of the three men started punching the senator’s son and threw him on the ground. The other two proceeded to beat up the senator’s son.
While the victim’s name was not released, one of the senator’s son, Julian, posted on his Instagram story.
“To everyone expecting to see me at Epic tonight, I won’t be able to make it.
“Got caught in a really unfortunate situation last night and need time to recover, both physically and mentally appreciate all your understanding and support. See you soon.”
Meanwhile, it was also reported that Sen. Estrada himself flew to Boracay and talked to local authorities on Saturday. It was also reported that the three suspects are already in police custody.
