Top drug suspect nabbed, P3.4M worth of shabu seized in Lanao del Sur buy-bust

Government anti-narcotics agents confiscated on Friday, May 23, around P3.4 million worth of shabu following the arrest of a high-value target (HVT) drug suspect during a buy-bust operation in Taraka, Lanao del Sur, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.
PDEA Director Gil Cesario P. Castro said that the suspect alias “Tammy/Macar,’’ was collared in Barangay Sundig as intense surveillance was conducted with reports of his illegal drug-dealing ways.
Aside from the estimated 500 grams of shabu concealed in a piece of torn transparent plastic bag labeled 585, the authorities also seized the buy-bust money, a mobile phone, a wallet and various identification cards.
The 53-year old suspect, who is now in the custody of the PDEA Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Jail Facility, faces charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165.
The operation was carried out by the PDEA Drug Enforcement Officer of Lanao del Sur Provincial Office, 45th Special Action Company (SAC) Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP SAF), 4th SAB PNP SAC, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) and Taraka Municipal Police Station.
