For people who love to ride motorcycles, taking away that privilege is indeed painful but for this female motovlogger who also earns a living from it, that is certainly torture.
But like parents to their defiant child, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) explained to Yanna Motovlog that the suspension of her driver’s license will stay until such time that she surrenders the motorcycle she used during the viral road rage video in Zambales.
This, after the female vlogger appeared before the LTO Central Office on Friday, May 23, to explain her side and get a copy of the resolution of her case wherein she was fined a total of P7,000 aside from the suspension of her driver’s license.
The female vlogger told LTO Intelligence and Investigation Division chief Renante Melitante that security was the main reason why she was not able to attend the two hearings as her address was posted online.
During the meeting, Melintante maintained that the suspension will stand until such time that the female vlogger complies with the condition set for the lifting of the suspension.
Yanna Motovlog was fined P2,000 for reckless driving and P5,000 for driving a motorcycle with no side mirrors. The registration of her motorcycle was also suspended until such time that the condition is met.
The third offense was that the motorcycle she was riding in that time was noticed to have no license plates. But Yanna Motovlog was not penalized as she was not the owner of the vehicle.
During the hearing, the LTO said there is a need to surrender that motorcycle over suspicion that it is not registered—an order that is yet to be complied with by Yanna Motovlog.
Sources said Melitante asked for the real name of the owner of the motorcycle in order to be issued with a show cause and eventually bring it to the LTO. It is not clear, however, if Yanna Motovlog disclosed the name of the owner.
But the LTO said Yanna Motovlog did not settle the P7,000 fine.
For his part, LTO chief Assistant Secretary Vigor D. Mendoza II emphasized the need to follow traffic rules and regulations, especially the part that requires drivers to be courteous and disciplined at all times to avoid troubles.
