Marcos also said that tourists will soon have another reason to visit the province once the Sky Garden is completed.
"Hangarin natin na maghatid ang Sky Garden ng sigla at magbigay-daan para sa mas maraming bisita at trabaho para sa mga taga-rito (Our aim is for the Sky Garden to bring vibrancy and open opportunities for more visitors and jobs for the locals)," Marcos said in his speech on Friday, May 23.
"Napakahalaga ng turismo sa kaunlaran ng mga kanayunan. Nasusuportahan nito ang ating mga magsasaka, ating mangingisda, mga nagtitinda ng pasalubong, kasama ang mga hotel, at transportasyon (Tourism is very important for the development of rural areas. It supports our farmers, our fishermen, souvenir vendors, as well as hotels and transportation services)," Marcos added.
The Sky Garden will offer panoramic views of the iconic Hundred Islands National Park and its surrounding natural landscapes.
Marcos also praised Pangasinan's people and public officials for taking the initiative to construct the Sky Garden.
He noted that Pangasinan has always been one of the country’s most popular summer destinations, especially because of the famed Hundred Islands National Park.
The Sky Garden Project symbolizes pride, progress, collaboration, and an inclusive public space for all Filipinos.
The President emphasized that the Sky Garden is a joint initiative of the Department of Tourism (DOT), the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), and the city government of Alaminos.
With PhP249.8 million in funding from TIEZA, the Sky Garden Project is expected to be completed by March 15, 2026.
