“We are bringing best travel deals to all Ilonggos. We are not only promoting locally, but also globally,” said PTAA Mariegel Tankiang Manotok.
The 32nd PTAA Travel-Tour Expo will have travel agencies from the Visayas and Mindanao offering domestic and international travel.
The June 6 to 8 event at the Iloilo Convention Center will only feature travel agencies from Visayas and Mindanao. None from Metro Manila are participating.
“We want to empower the travel agencies in the Visayas and Mindanao. We are not allowing the ones from Metro Manila as we do not want to kill the market,” Manotok said.
Iloilo was chosen for being a rising destination and accessible and now caters to international flights.
The province is also in the travel map after it was named as the City of Gastronomy by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
PTAA Board of Trustee Charlene del Rosario said that the three-day expo not only has travel agencies, but also has participating airlines, resorts, and hotels.
“It’s a one-stop shop when it comes to travel,” said Del Rosario, PTAA public relations officer.
PTAA Board of Trustee Matthew Poonin added that business-to-business (B2B) sessions will be conducted among participating exhibitors.
The PTTA is partnering with the Iloilo MICE Alliance and has the support of the Department of Tourism-6, the Iloilo City government, the Iloilo provincial government.
