A man handcuffed himself to the towing cable of a Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) truck during a dispute over an alleged illegal parking violation in North Caloocan on Friday morning, May 23.

The incident happened at around 10 a.m. and involved MMDA Special Operations Group (SOG) personnel.
According to the MMDA personnel, they were about to tow the man’s vehicle when he suddenly resisted and locked himself to the truck’s cable.
The act caused a minor traffic obstruction and drew the attention of people nearby.
The situation was resolved after the man agreed to remove the handcuffs following a short discussion with MMDA head Gabriel Go.
No one was reported hurt or arrested.
The MMDA reminded the public to follow traffic and parking rules to avoid similar incidents.
