Man arrested for illegal possession of firearm, gun ban violation

Police arrested a man for illegal possession of a firearm and gun ban violation in Muntinlupa on May 22.
Operatives from the Muntinlupa police’s Warrant and Subpoena Unit identified the arrested person as alias Valentin, 30, a resident of Sitio Pagkakaisa in Barangay Sucat, Muntinlupa.
He was nabbed based on a warrant of arrest issued by Presiding Judge Abraham Joseph Alcantara of the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 204.
Valentin is tagged as the Muntinlupa police’s No. 7 most wanted person for May this year. He is facing two gun-related cases.
In one case, he is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act). His bail was set at P100,000.
In another case, which has a recommended bail of P36,000, he is accused of violating Section 261 (Q), or carrying firearms outside residence or place of business, of the Omnibus Election Code
He is under the custody of the Muntinlupa police pending the issuance of a commitment order from the court.
Brig. Gen. Joseph Arguelles, acting district director of the Southern Police District, commended the arresting team.
