ZAMBOANGA CITY – The first flyover in the Zamboanga Peninsula opened here on Thursday, May 22, in line with ultimate objective to ease traffic in this city.
The assessment and opening ceremony of the P450-million flyover at the intersection of Santa Cruz and Tetuan Highway was led by Public Works and Highways Secretary Manuel Bonoan, Mayor John Dalipe, former Rep. Celso Lobregat, and DPWH and city government officials.
The blessing of the multi-million peso project was held a day before its inauguration.
Regional public works officials headed by Regional Director Cayamombao Dia and project contractor Fry Fil Corp. also attended the assessment and walkthrough together with Bonoan.
The project built during the start of the Dalipe administration in 2022, faced numerous delays before it finally opened.
Dalipe was elated over the project and thanked Lobregat and brother Majority Leader and Zamboanga City second district Rep. Mannix Dalipe for following up the project with the national government until its completion.
