Cavite driver spots stolen motorcycle, leads to suspect's arrest

CAVITE – A man’s chance encounter with his stolen motorcycle led to the arrest of a suspect in Silang on Thursday, May 2, where authorities also recovered an unlicensed gun from the suspect’s possession.
A report from the Police Regional Office 4A identified the suspect as alias Bert.
Initial investigation revealed that the motorcycle was reported stolen by the owner on May 18.
The victim later spotted it being driven by alias Bert in Barangay Biga 2, prompting him to alert the authorities.
Silang Municipal Police Station operatives immediately responded to the report and flagged down alias Bert.
The victim positively identified both his motorcycle and the suspect, whom he recognized from the CCTV footage of the theft.
Operatives discovered a .38 caliber revolver without a serial number concealed at the suspect’s waist during his arrest.
Alias Bert is now under custody and faces charges for violating the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016 and the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act in relation to the Omnibus Election Code.
