A 68-year-old grandfather and Miya, a 34-year-old LGBTQ member, were rewarded after availing of the city’s free circumcision program or “Operation Tuli.”
Lapu-Lapu Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan said the grandfather was given P20,000 while Miya got P10,000.
The giving of cash rewards was part of the city’s program that encourages men aged 20-years-old and above to get circumcised.
Cash reward will be given to uncircumcised men aged at least 20. Men aged 60 and above will get P20,000.
Chan said the LGBT member finally agreed to be circumcised for his own good.
“Miya realized its health benefits that’s why he accepted the challenge,” said Chan.
SK Federation President Orlan "OJ" Chan-Carungay handed over the P10,000 incentive to Miya.
