The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) confirmed on Wednesday, May 21, that it is investigating an alleged robbery-extortion and motornapping incident involving police officers along a major thoroughfare in the city.

According to QCPD’s official statement, the incident occurred at around 7 p.m. on May 17 near EDSA Balintawak, at the corner of NLEX Cloverleaf Interchange in Barangay Unang Sigaw.
The victim, identified as "Allan," was reportedly flagged down by suspects aboard a black sports utility vehicle (SUV).
One of the suspects has been confirmed as a uniformed police officer assigned to the Northern Police District – District Personnel Holding and Accounting Section (NPD-DPHAS), QCPD said.
The victim said that he was forcibly taken, handcuffed, and robbed of cash, his cell phone, and his motorcycle.
Following the complaint, QCPD’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) launched a joint investigation with Talipapa Police Station 3, NPD-DID, Caloocan CPS Sub-Station 5, and the MMDA.
Police said that both criminal and administrative charges are being prepared against the identified police officer.
The QCPD emphasized it would not tolerate any form of misconduct or abuse by its personnel and assured the public that the case would be handled with transparency and full accountability.
