DAVAO CITY – Over 100 barangays in the province of Maguindanao del Sur are still flooded after almost a week of torrential rains due to the combined effects of the Intertropical Convergence Zone and low-pressure area, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said.
As of 5 p.m. May 21, the NDRRMC said that 111 out of 121 affected barangays from 12 towns remain flooded. Flood in other areas has receded or subsided.

Data from the Bangsamoro Rapid Emergency Action on Disaster Incidence of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao said that 138 barangays have been affected by flooding since May 14.
Bangsamoro READi reported that massive flooding has affected almost 270, 000 persons in the towns of Ampatuan, Datu Abdullah Sangki, Datu Anggal Midtimbang, Datu Piang, Datu Salibo, Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Datu Hoffer Ampatuan, Mamasapano, Guindulungan, Shariff Aguak, Shariff Saydona Mustapha, Sultan sa Barongis, and Talayan.

BARMM interim Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua mobilized key regional ministries to deliver relief aid and safeguard affected communities.
Flooding also destroyed over 2,033 hectares of crops and livestock.
