PH shooters eye strong showing in Czech tilt

The Philippine Practical Shooting Association (PPSA) hopes to make waves in the 2025 IPSC PCC/Mini Rifle World Shoot that started on Monday, May 19, in Znojmo, Czech Republic.

Lawyer Marc Vincent Nieves leads the delegation where he is competing in the mini rifle standard division that also has Jonathan Jayson Ramos, Erwin Estares and John Marc Paras.

Competing in the open division are Ramil Mercado, Timothy James Andes, Angelo Miralles and Teodorico Salud, while seeing action in the standard senior team are March Oliver Arthur Marcelino, Mario Cajanding, Ridgie Orina and Reginald Torrejos.

Vicente Galang, Alejandro Sese, Edwin Miranda and Jun Mallari compete in the open senior team, while Mary Alex Cruz, Myrna Mendoza and Marielle Sonaco see action in the open lady team.

In the PCC event, Michael Ron Ligon, Joseph Bernabe, Renbert Ceasar Gustilo and Alfredo Catalan Jr. compete in the optics division, while Aeron Jhon Lanuza, Willard Carrera, Percival Sata Brigida and Dario Magno III see action in the iron division.

The optics team senior team has Dennis Darte, Gerardo Cruz, Joshua Garlon Icasas and Roldan Manzano, even as the iron senior team has Felicito Garcia, Alex Duque, Eduardo Quirino Jr. and Genaro Colibao.

The optics lady team is composed of Perlita Salvador, Ma. Zarina Jane Concepcion, Rica Adrienne Evangelista and Maria Pia Dimapilis, while the optics super senior team has Rosendo Castro Jr., Johnny Go, Arthur Brillantes Jr. and Agustin Ybud.

Dubbed as the Olympics of practical shooting, around 800 participants from more than 40 countries are participating in this event that will run until Sunday, May 25.

“We are sending the best! For years, our teams have been training hard and are focused on bringing home the honor and glory to our country,” said PPSA President and IPSC Regional Director Edwin Lim.
