The video that she herself uploaded on her social media account ironically became the smoking gun that proved the accountability of Yanna Motovlog  for what the Land Transportation Office (LTO) described as a gross deviation from the standard of what is expected from a motorcycle rider.

In the seven-page decision based on the hearing conducted on the viral road rage video in Zambales, Yanna Motovlog was fined P5,000 for using a motorcycle without side mirrors, and another P2,000 for reckless driving.

LTO chief, Assistant Secretary Vigor D. Mendoza II said the controversial motovlogger was also punished with suspension of driver’s license until such time that she complied with the order for her to surrender the motorcycle she was using at the time of her confrontation with a pick-up driver in a remote area in Zambales.

Mendoza said all law enforcement officers were also directed to apprehend Yanna Motovlog if she is found driving on public roads—until such time that the suspension on her driver’s license is lifted.

The registration of her motorcycle was also suspended and the worst part is that the owner of the motorcycle she was driving during the incident will also suffer as the LTO decision also stated that its registration was placed on alarm until the motorcycle is surrendered to the agency for inspection.

Following the incident that went viral on social media over her unpleasant remarks and what the LTO described as dangerous maneuvers against the pick-up driver on a rough road, Yanna Motovlog was summoned to explain why she would not be penalized.

She was later charged with Reckless Driving under Section 48 of Republic Act 4136, operating a motor vehicle without side mirrors, and motor vehicle without attached number plates.

In the decision, Yanna Motovlog was found guilty on the first two offenses but was absolved in the third case since she is not the registered owner of the motorcycle.

Aside from the viral video, Mendoza said the letter of apology of Yanna Motovlog wherein she stated that she is ready to face the consequences of her action, along with the testimony of the pick-up driver, became strong pieces of evidence against her.

Acts of defiance, disrespect

In the same decision, the LTO called out Yanna Motovlog for “outright disrespect” when she did not appear in the hearings and refused to turn over the motorcycle she was using during the incident.

“This noncompliance not only violates the instructions mandated by this Office but also demonstrates outright disrespect for established legal procedures and regulatory enforcement. The failure to appear as ordered underscores a lack of regard for due process, accountability, and the authority vested in this Office,” the decision read.

“By refusing to present both the registered owner and the motorcycle for inspection, the concerned party has obstructed investigative proceedings, delayed efforts to establish responsibility, and undermined the integrity of enforcement measures,” it added.

The LTO, in its decision, also emphasized what it described as lack of sense of genuine accountability on the part of Yanna Motovlog when she wrote on her letter of apology that she would explain her side in the proper place and time.

“This statement, instead of demonstrating genuine accountability, conveys an unsettling dismissal of the legal mandate to appear before this Office as the proper venue for addressing the matter,” the decision read.

“Such language further illustrates a disregard for due process and an unwillingness to comply with lawful directives, reinforcing the perception of disrespect toward regulatory enforcement,” it added.

Lead by example

Mendoza earlier stressed that as a social media personality, Yanna Motovlog has the responsibility to her followers to lead by example.

This was also emphasized in the decision: “As a motovlogger and content creator, (she) holds a heightened responsibility to set a positive example for her audience. Instead, her reckless overtaking maneuver—executed on the right side of a Nissan Navarra without signals, on a hazardous road with poor visibility --directly contradicts the safe riding principles she should be promoting.”

The LTO stated that given the influence of Yanna Motovlog within the motorcycle community, her behavior risks normalizing dangerous practices among her followers.

“While she later expressed remorse and pledged cooperation, her initial refusal to delete the video demonstrates a disregard for the seriousness of her actions. By keeping the content accessible, she inadvertently reinforced a culture of reckless riding rather than emphasizing accountability,” it added.
