Two 18-year old girls will likely spend the rest of their life in jail after they yielded around P5.4 million worth of shabu during a buy-bust in Pasig City.
Police Maj. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin, director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), said the two arrested suspects were actually newly-identified high-value targets.
“Their arrest exposed their role in the trafficking of illegal drugs,” said Aberin.
He said the operation was carried out on May 20 after a poseur buyer was able to transact with the two suspects for the purchase of illegal drugs. The arrest was announced as soon as the transaction was completed inside a residence on Esguerra Street in Barangay Pinagbuhatan.
Seized were 792.44 grams of suspected shabu, concealed in seven knot-tied transparent plastic bags and three heat-sealed sachets, all containing white crystalline substances.
Also seized during the operation were a sky-blue eco bag and an orange pouch used to hide and transport the illegal drugs.
The two arrested suspects face violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“This arrest sends a loud, clear, and irreversible message: the streets belong to the law, not to those who seek to poison them. The fight is real. The frontlines are everywhere. And in Metro Manila, NCRPO leads the charge—decisive, fearless, and absolutely unyielding,” said Aberin.
"Our resolve to end the illegal drug problem is unwavering and indiscriminate. We will continue to launch an aggressive campaign but we shall do it in accordance with the Police Operational Procedures and due process of law,” he added.
