CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – The Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office has reported a significant reduction in focus crimes from January to May this year compared to the same period in 2024.
Police Col. Ferdinand Germino, provincial police chief, attributed this to their intensified presence, increased visibility operations, and the consistent rollout of crime prevention initiatives on the grassroots level.
The number of eight focus crimes – murder, homicide, rape, physical injury, robbery, theft, carnapping, and motornapping – dropped by 41, to 210 in the first five months of this year from 251 during the same period in 2024.
“This shift not only protects lives and property but also promotes public confidence, making Nueva Ecija a safer place to live, work, and do business. This success is made possible by our strong leadership, the commitment of NEPPO personnel, and the steadfast support of local government units and community partners,” said Germino.
