VP Sara honors PH Navy for protecting territory against threats

"Bilang huwaran ng disiplina, dedikasyon, at dangal, kayo ang patuloy naming inspirasyon sa pagtindig at paglilingkod para sa kapayapaan at kalayaan ng ating bansa (As exemplars of discipline, dedication, and honor, you continue to be our inspiration in standing up and serving for the peace and freedom of our country)," she said in a video message on Tuesday, May 20.

She made the statement in her message for the 127th anniversary of the Philippine Navy.

The vice president also thanked the Navy for their "faithful service and unwavering love for the nation."

"Sa araw na ito, buong puso nating parangalan at pasalamatan ang Hukbong Dagat ng Pilipinas. Sa maraming dekada ng inyong paglalayag, kayo ay nananatiling matatag na haligi ng Sandatahang Lakas at matapang na tagapagtanggol ng ating karagatan (Today, we wholeheartedly honor and thank the Philippine Navy. For many decades of your voyage, you have remained a steadfast pillar of the Armed Forces and a courageous defender of our seas)," she said.

"Maraming salamat sa inyong tapat na serbisyo at sa walang sawang pagmamahal sa bayan—lalo na sa inyong tungkuling pangalagaan ang ating teritoryo laban sa anumang banta sa seguridad (Thank you very much for your faithful service and unwavering love for the nation—especially in your duty to protect our territory against any threats to security)," she added.
