The city government of Parañaque signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) and the Child Protection Network Foundation, Inc. to strengthen children's rights.
Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez said the MOA will pave the way for the establishment of the TeleCPU or teleconsultation center that will give abused children safe access to medical, legal and psychological services through video conferencing for free.
Olivarez said the TeleCPU will be established in four barangays in the city – Barangays San Isidro, San Dionisio, Sun Valley, and Moonwalk.
The mayor added that TeleCPU will help speed up the recovery of abused and exploited children.
Olivarez vowed to continue collaborating with other institutions and organizations to achieve the city government’s goal: ensuring that no children in the city will suffer from abuse.
The signing of agreement was held on Monday, May 19, at the Mayor’s Conference Room.
