Eastern Samar town creates San Juanico Bridge task force

TACLOBAN CITY – Due to the temporary weight restrictions on the San Juanico Bridge, the local government of Guiuan, Eastern Samar is working on solutions to address looming transportation issues.
Mayor Annaliza Gonzales-Kwan created the LGU Guiuan Task Force San Juanico through Executive Order No. 05-37, Series of 2025, to handle possible emergencies caused by the bridge restrictions.
The task force will develop and implement programs to reduce the negative effects of these limits on trade, transportation, and the local economy.
It is comprised of key LGU officials and department heads, and will work with provincial, regional, and national government agencies, transportation groups, and other stakeholders.
It has invited the Guiuan Chamber of Commerce and local businesses to help create plans to help companies and strengthen the community's ability to cope with potential supply chain issues for essential goods and services.
Kwan asked the people of Guiuan to stay calm and cooperate during the transition period while they aim to ensure that people have access to basic needs and help those affected.
