Goût de France brings Parisian flavors to Makati this May

Craving something French? Maybe a sip of chilled rosé under the trees with your favorite crêpe. The French culinary festival Goût de France is back at the Makati Street Meet along Paseo de Roxas Avenue on the weekend of May 24 to 25, brought to you by Ayala Land, Taste of France, and the Embassy of France to the Philippines and Micronesia, with the special participation of Enderun Colleges École Ducasse and Le Cordon Bleu Ateneo de Manila.
French chefs, restaurateurs, distributors, and retailers gather to bring French wines and delicacies to the street for everyone to enjoy. You may be wanting to spend the summer museum-hopping in Paris, watching movie stars in Cannes, or jumping on the next Manila–Paris direct flight.
Go over the French market and let the food and ambiance take you to France. Learn to cook a few dishes from the best French chefs in town, discover new favorites, uncork a bottle or two, and spend time with loved ones, friends, and family. On Saturday, May 24, there will be a free cooking demo by Chef Marc Chalopin of Enderun Colleges, followed by a set from guest DJ JB Bolaños. The evening combines culinary presentations with music.
At 3 p.m. on Sunday the 25th, the Course des garçons de café, or Waiter’s Race, will take place—a French tradition where café servers compete to see who can deliver an unspilled bottle of cold Evian water the fastest. The weekend market is designed to give a taste of France and invite further discovery. The atmosphere recalls a French market, with accordion music and food offerings from every direction.
The following week, French bistros and restaurants across the country will offer a special French menu. The Embassy of France has partnered with a number of restaurants contributing bold and diverse flavors to the Philippines’ international dining scene. The full list of participating restaurants is available on the Facebook page of the Embassy of France to the Philippines and Micronesia. The Goût de France market runs from May 24 to 25.
