A total of 10 micro enterprises in Nueva Vizcaya received P200,000 worth of livelihood assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to sustain operations and support income generation at the grassroots level.
In a report from the DOLE Nueva Vizcaya Field Office (DOLE-NVFO), beneficiaries from the municipalities of Diadi, Dupax del Sur, Kasibu, and Villaverde received support through the Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP), which assists family-run ventures such as snack vending, baking, small eateries, and tutorial services.
The recipients were selected based on their need for working capital and compliance with labor standards and occupational safety and health regulations, according to the field office.
DOLE-NVFO Head Elizabeth U. Martinez, who also operates a small business, highlighted the role of the Business and Work Improvement Course (BWIC) in equipping beneficiaries with practical skills to manage risks and enhance enterprise productivity.
“There will be ups and downs, but with hard work and determination, success is achievable,” Martinez said.
DILP is among the flagship programs of DOLE that aim to uplift vulnerable sectors by strengthening community-based enterprises and promoting sustainable livelihood opportunities across the country.
