CEBU CITY – Cebu governor-elect Pamela Baricuatro has started the transition at the Cebu Provincial Capitol by sending a letter to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Cebu Provincial Office asking them to help coordinate the orderly turnover from the administration of outgoing Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia.

In her letter, Baricuatro informed DILG-Cebu Provincial Director Dr. Robel T. Sastrillo Jr. that she also wrote Regional Director Leocadio T. Trovela requesting assistance on the same matter.
A transition team, headed by Atty. Edmund T. Lao, has been formed to coordinate with the DILG and the outgoing administration, said Baricuatro.
Other members of the transition team were Paulo Uy (Vice Head, IT and Digital), Ruben Licera (spokesperson, Media, Info, and Tourism), Aldwin Empaces (Administration), Atty. Rubie Virtucio (Legal and Legislation), former Mayor Titing Esgana (Budget and Audit), and Ferliza Contratista (HR and Communications).
In a statement, Baricuatro thanked the more than 1.1-million Cebuanos who voted for her.
Baricuatro said that the result of the election served as a clear call for change and genuine progress in Cebu.
She noted that she defeated a highly favored opponent with no congressional support, and with one mayor supporting her. She highlighted that the only endorsement that she got from a prominent figure was from former President Rodrigo Duterte.
As she gears up to govern the province, Baricuatro issued an appeal to Cebuanos.
“Ang hangyo ni Gov. Pam? Tabangan siya. Ubanan siya. Kay kamo ang Sugbo ug kamo pud ang gahum nga nagpaluyo sa iyang pagserbisyo isip Gobernador (The appeal of Gov. Pam? Help her, join her. Because you Cebu and Cebuanos are his power behind her service as governor),” she said.
