In an interview, Antipolo PNP chief Lt. Col. Ryan Manongdo said the suspect, identified as "Pablo," is an assassin tasked by his drug organization to eliminate individuals who fail to remit the sales of the group's drug operations.
"Sila 'yung nauutusan ng grupo upang pumatay ng mga hindi nagre-remit ng bayad nila. Masisiguro namin na s'ya ay involved sa iba't bang shooting incidents dito sa Antipolo at mga karatig bayan (They are the ones ordered by the group to kill those who do not remit their sales to the organization. We are pretty sure that he is also involved in other shooting incidents here in Antipolo and in nearby areas)," Manongdo said.
Pablo, meanwhile, denied the police's allegations against him, saying that he is just a drug courier for the group and not an assassin.
The suspect was nabbed on F. Manalo Street in Barangay San Roque by patrolling Antipolo police officers on Sunday, May 18.
Based on the police report, the policemen spotted the suspect displaying suspicious behavior while walking with a motorcycle helmet.
Upon approaching him, Pablo suddenly ran away from the cops and threw away his belt bag containing 100 grams of shabu worth P680,000 and a digital weighing scale.
Pablo is currently under the custody of the Antipolo PNP and is facing charges for violating Section 11 of Republic Act 9165, as well as murder charges.
