TJ Monterde and KZ Tandigan share relationship advice: Know your partner's love language

Celebrity couple and artists TJ Monterde and KZ Tandingan have demonstrated that true love exists. Their 11-year relationship defines them as each other’s “palagi.”

During the press conference for their upcoming fan meet, "Never 'Bean' Sweeter," held at Dunkin' Donuts United in Mandaluyong on May 8, TJ and KZ shared relationship advice.

"Simple lang yung sagot ko. Knowing your partner's love language. It's a practical answer, pero ang laki-laki ng tulong sa relationship. (My answer is simple. Knowing your partner's love language. It's a practical answer, but it has helped our relationship a lot)," the couple said.
According to TJ, one of the little things that made their relationship last was knowing the little details about their partner. He shared a story about how KZ became emotional when he made a small gesture for her.
''So pagpasok niya ng kwarto nun nakita ko parang naluluha siya so nagtanong ako bakit anong nangyari sayo. Tapos sabi ni KZ sa akin kasi nilagyan mo ng toothpaste yung toothbrush ko, kaya siya naging emotional kasi ang love language ni KZ ay acts of service. (So when she entered the room, I saw that she was in tears. So I asked, 'Why? What happened to you?' Then KZ told me, 'Because you put toothpaste on my toothbrush.' That's why she got emotional because KZ's love language is acts of service)," TJ said.

Meanwhile, KZ mentioned that getting to know TJ's love language helped her understand how much she loves him.
"At least for us, ayun ang pinakamalaking tulong sa relationship kasi now we understand each other better because we know our love languages, kumbaga alam ko na kung paano ko papakita kay TJ na mahal ko sita, alam din ni TJ kung paano niya nararamdaman sa akin na mahal niya ako. (At least for us, that's the biggest help in the relationship because now we understand each other better because we know our love languages. I mean I know how to show TJ that I love him, and TJ also knows how to make me feel that he loves me)," KZ said.
"Also, being mindful of each other. Every time we make a decision parang kailangan mo ma-imagine kung ikaw yung nasa shoes ng partner mo how would you feel kung gagawin niya sa'yo on what you're about to do. So I think ayun ang nag work for us. (Also, being mindful of each other. Every time we make a decision, it seems like you have to imagine what you would feel if you were in your partner's shoes and they did what you're about to do. So I think that's what works for us)," she added.
Memorable fan encounter
Having their first fan meet as part of the Dunkin' Donuts family, TJ and KZ recounted some of the most memorable fan meetings they had experienced during gigs and mall shows.
"Pagdating ko airport yung mga sumalubong sa akin mga naka blue na buhok. Kasi akala nila blue pa rin buhok ko. So pagdating ko dun lahat sila nagulat kasi hindi na blue yung buhok ko. Ending nag mukha kaming dance troupe. (When I arrived at the airport, the people who greeted me had blue hair. Because they thought my hair was still blue. So when I got there, they were all surprised because my hair wasn't blue anymore. We ended up looking like a dance troupe).
"Galing kami nun sa mahabang biyahe. Pero nung nakita ko sila nawala yung pagod ko. (We had just come from a long trip, but when I saw them, my tiredness disappeared)," she said.
As for TJ, one memorable fan encounter was when a fan tattooed his X username on his arm.
"For me, na-a-amaze ako kapag may pinapa-tattoo ng lyrics ng kanta ko. Pero pinaka nagulat ako is yung pina-tattoo niya yung username ko sa Twitter. Hindi ko alam kung bakit. (For me, I'm amazed when someone gets a tattoo of my song lyrics. But what surprised me the most was when they got my Twitter username tattooed. I don't know why)," he said.

TJ and KZ's “Never 'Bean' Sweeter” fan meet is happening at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on May 25, 2025. Tickets are available at participating Dunkin' Donuts stores nationwide.
