P1.3-M shabu seized in Tondo drug sting

A buy-bust operation in Barangay 123, Tondo, Manila, resulted in the arrest of a 50-year-old high-value individual (HVI) and the seizure of P1.36 million worth of suspected shabu.

The suspect, identified as Rolly Muring, also known as “Ricky,” was arrested at around 3:35 a.m. along Road 10, Mel Lopez Boulevard, corner Moriones Street on Saturday, May 17.

During the operation, authorities confiscated a heat-sealed plastic sachet and a knot-tied plastic bag, both containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu.

The total estimated weight of the illegal drugs was around 200 grams, with a street value of P1,360,000 based on the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) valuation.

Police also recovered a P500 bill used as marked money, five P1,000 boodle bills, and a maroon pouch allegedly used to conceal the drugs.

The operation was carried out by personnel of the Manila Police District Drug Enforcement Unit (MPD-DEU).

Police said the arrested suspect has a prior record of drug-related offenses, was apprised of his constitutional rights, and is currently detained at the MPD-DEU custodial facility.

He will face charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
