Reigning Man of the World Sergio Azuaga of Venezuela is excited to make the Philippines his temporary home.
Sergio shared the news during an interview at the photo shoot for international shoe designer Jojo Bragais in Sta. Mesa, Manila.
After his reign, Sergio stated that one of his plans would be to learn the Tagalog language.
"I want to learn Tagalog. I won't do something I don't enjoy. There are so many possibilities. When I joined Man of the World, I didn't imagine I would be here with you. So who knows what will happen next year? It's a surprise," he said.
Sergio said he loves to dance, but he hasn't tried singing. "I can dance, but I haven't tried to sing. All the people here love karaoke."
Sergio said it's an honor to win the Man of the World title, which he believes has opened up great opportunities for him. However, he stated that he is ready to pass the crown to another winner on May 31, 2025.
"I'm nobody to judge anybody. However, if I can describe the characteristics, I want the next Man of the World to be someone who can connect with the people. That's one of the things I do during my reign: communicating with the people. Be yourself and make a good connection with the people," said Sergio when asked about the characteristics of the next Man of the World winner.
Sergio added, "It's an honor to be Man of the World. Having an international title is incredible! But it's time for me to move to other projects and try different things. I don't want to get stuck with the same thing that I did last year. I want to show people that I can do other things aside from pageant.
"Man of the World is a great experience, and I fell in love with the pageant. But Man of the World is the end of my pageant career. So you will see many good things in the future," he said.
Sergio mentioned that Man of the World taught him how to connect with others.
"I may have a hard time talking, but when it comes to the people I enjoy and share my time with them. I enjoy being with people. However, my most important responsibility (as Man of the World) is to uphold the values," he said.
At the photo shoot, Sergio modeled Bragais elevator shoes, the Bragais reversibelt, Bragais DMITRI mandiators, and Bragais x Watawat sneakers.
