The Department of Education (DEPED) officials paid a courtesy visit to Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar for a post-celebration of Mother’s Day at the Las Piñas City Hall and congratulated her for winning in the May 12 midterm election.

Aguilar will served Las Pinas vice mayor while her daughter Vice Mayor April Aguilar was proclaimed as the city’s chief executive.

Aside from Aguilar, her daughters, April and Alelee Aguilar-Andanar, who also won as councilor, joined the post-Mother’s Day celebration with DEPED officials.

The visit by the DEPED officials, led by Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Loreta Torrecampo, served as a gesture of recognition for Aguilar’s enduring support for education and her nurturing leadership as a public servant.

 Aguilar served as a public school teacher - an experience that has shaped her long-standing advocacy for quality education and teacher welfare in the city before entering politics.

She expressed heartfelt appreciation to the DepEd officials, emphasizing her continued commitment to championing the needs of the youth and the education sector.

The visit also highlighted the shared dedication between the local government and DepEd in ensuring accessible and effective learning for all Las Piñeros.
