An “akyat-bahay” suspect was arrested in a follow-up operation conducted by Galas Police Station 11 in Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City on May 15.
According to the police report, the suspect entered the victim’s house by destroying the exhaust fan and stole personal belongings at around 3:35 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14.
The victim discovered the incident at around 8 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, and immediately reported it to the police. The incident was captured by CCTV cameras installed in the house.
Operatives conducted a follow-up operation and arrested the suspect at Victory Avenue in Quezon City.
Police identified the suspect as alias Jayson, 28, a resident of Barangay Tatalon.
Recovered from the suspect was an improvised short firearm known as a “pen gun,” loaded with live caliber .38 ammunition.
The suspect will be charged with robbery, violation of R.A. 10501 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and B.P. 881 (Omnibus Election Code) in relation to Comelec Resolution No. 11067.
