Las Piñas mayor-elect April Aguilar orders cleanup after elections
Las Piñas mayor-elect April Aguilar ordered the implementation of “Oplan Baklas,” mobilizing teams from the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) to remove campaign materials across the city following the May 12 midterm elections.
Aguilar issued the order as she reaffirmed her commitment to sustaining the “clean and green” program initiated by her late father, former Mayor Vergel “Nene” Aguilar, to preserve cleanliness and protect the environment.
She noted that because of her father's program, Las Piñas became the first city in the country to receive a United Nations award for environmental protection in 2000.
Expressing her gratitude to her father's initiatives, Aguilar vowed to serve the city with sincerity, compassion, and integrity.
She said the principles instilled in her by the former mayor would be her inspiration in driving Las Pinas toward further progress.
