Marikina City's mayor-elect Maan Teodoro on Friday, May 16, lauded the passing of Republic Act No. 12204 which she authored that increases the bed capacity at Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center (ARMMC).

"Isang malaking tagumpay para sa kalusugan ng bawat taga-Marikina! Ang Republic Act No. 12204 ay pormal nang naipasa, ito ay personal nating ipinaglaban para sa inyo (This is a big victory for the health of every Marikina resident! Republic Act No. 12204 has been formally passed and we personally fought for it for you)," Teodoro said.
"Doble na ang bed capacity ng Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center mula 500 magiging 1,000 beds na. Mas maraming pamilya na ang matutulungan (The bed capacity of Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center has now been doubled from 500 to 1,000 beds. This means the hospital can now help and accommodate more families on their medical needs)," she added.
Located along Sumulong Highway in Barangay Sto. Niño, the hospital was inaugurated in 1966 as the Marikina Emergency Hospital.
It was later renamed Eulogio Rodriguez, Sr. Memorial Hospital (ERSMH) in 1969.
In 1995, through Republic Act No. 8019, the hospital was upgraded to a medical center and renamed Amang Rodriguez Medical Center (ARMC).
