BACOLOD CITY – A 61-year-old laborer was fatally shot in a fiesta in Sitio Minasug-ang, Barangay Tabun-ac, Toboso, Negros Occidental on Thursday night, May 15.
Police said the victim and a 25-year-old man, both residents of Barangay Bandila, Toboso, were attending the fiesta, when two men arrived and mauled them.
The victims slumped to the ground and the suspects shot the elderly victim who died.
His companion managed to escape.
A manhunt operation against the two suspects is underway.
The day before, a former Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit member was shot dead in Barangay Tabun-ac, Toboso, on Wednesday, May 14.
The New People’s Army (NPA) said they killed the victim for being a military asset and a drug pusher.
The Philippine Army dismissed the allegation that the victim was a military asset.
Police are conducting follow-up investigations.
